Strengthening cultural competencies at Lufthansa Technik
From the autumn of 2005 through to the autumn of 2006, Stefan Meister will be at Lufthansa Technik in Hamburg to carry out 40 training courses to increase cultural competencies.
Evaluating successful day
Aircraft mechanic Martin Mader took part in the training: »It was the first time I took part in intercultural training,« says the hobby model-maker. What did he get from it? »I don’t even know where to start! First of all, I benefited personally because it will really improve how I interact with people from different cultures. I think I will be more confident, and that I will be able to see many situations from their perspective.«
»In dealing with customers now, I think I can probably make them feel more at home here. And maybe this will decide whether the customer will return.« Martin especially enjoyed the fact that the training itself was not merely a dry presentation but was very interactive. »The active participation created a positive mood within the group.«
