Intercultural virtual communication training options
Even though virtual teams are becoming the norm in the global marketplace, research indicates that the majority of these teams do not reach their goals (see Lipnack und Stamps). Several of these teams have not even had a grounding phase, let alone face-to-face meetings. The filter of electronic communication often contributes to the magnification of problems.
In the long term, successful teams are those that work simultaneously on their assignments and relationships, that are conscious of cultural differences and various culture-related approaches to the use of media and develop a corresponding microculture that considers the needs of all team members.
intercultures offers organizations and companies learning platforms that enable them to study these processes and to relate them to their specific work reality. This format differs from other forms of training in that after an introduction to the fundmentals of virtual intercultural communication, each organization develops its own material on the basis of its own operational processes and issues.
Three formats are available:
Fundamentals of virtual intercultural communication and their operational application (1 or 2 days)
Fundamentals of the development of virtual intercultural teams and their operational application (2 to 3 days, with follow-up)
Supervisory consultation for virtual intercultural processes in organizations, from team building to software consulting (several days, montoring)
intercultures delivers the third format partly in cooperation with software development partners. Format 2 requires the physical presence of all team members (or as many as possible) .
